Q: Do you still need an ATT in Canada?
A: Yes. You require your Authorization to Transport (ATT) to purchase, possess, and transport Restricted firearms in Canada. The exception to this would be if you have a collectors PAL.
Q: Do I need an ATT to go to the range?
A: Yes. You require an ATT to transport your Restricted firearms to and from the range, as well as to purchase and possess Restricted firearms.
Q: Do you need an ATT to buy a handgun?
A: Yes. The ATT serves to allow you to purchase, possess and transport Restricted firearms in Canada.
Q: Do I need an ATT to buy a handgun in BC?
A: RCMP CFP policy requires that you have either a Range Membership, or Club Membership in order to obtain your Authorization to Transport (ATT). This allows you to purchase, possess, or transport your Restricted firearms.
The range or club must be an RCMP and CFO sanctioned and approved. To meet your RCMP requirements for an ATT to buy a handgun, join the Silvercore Club.
Q: Do I need a range membership to buy a handgun in Canada
A: RCMP CFP policy requires you to have either a Range Membership, or Club Membership in order to obtain your Authorization to Transport (ATT). This allows you to purchase, possess, or transport your Restricted firearms.
The range or club must be an RCMP and CFO sanctioned and approved. To meet your RCMP requirements for an ATT to buy a handgun, join the Silvercore Club.
Q: How much is a gun membership?
A: It depends where you go and the level of access. Range memberships which include access to a shooting range facility can span anywhere from $200 – $1000 or more. If you are joining a range or gun club for just the purpose of the ATT, it can be much cheaper.
The Silvercore Gun Club meets the RCMP requirements for an ATT needed for purchasing, possessing and transporting a Restricted firearm in Canada and can be purchased for the low cost of $59/year. It comes with North America wide liability insurance as well as many other member benefits.
Q: Do I need an ATT to go to the range?
A: Yes. In order to transport your Restricted firearms, you will require an ATT which is obtained by purchasing a gun club or range membership.
Q: Do I need an ATT for Non-Restricted Firearms?
A: No. ATT’s are for Restricted firearms, and are not required for Non-Restricted firearms.
