Refine and perfect your Handgun skills through industry structured programs designed for the armed professional while under the direct supervision and coaching of certified firearms instructors.
  • PAL
  • Successful completion of HG2 or proof of previous formal handgun training
  • Equipment:

  • Handgun (preferably centerfire)
  • 3 or more magazines
  • Holster/Magazine pouches
    1. Good quality kydex or leather holster and mag pouches
    2. Rigid, sturdy belt
  • Tactical flashlight
  • Covering garment
    1. A hoodie or jacket that can be zipped up

    The student is responsible for bringing their own handgun. If the student does not have access to a handgun, arrangements can be made with Silvercore to rent one. The student must bring three magazines or speed loaders for their firearm, a sturdy belt and rigid belt holster made of kydex or leather that covers the trigger guard. If you are renting the firearm from Silvercore, the magazines and holsters will be provided.

    If you do not have your own equipment, Silvercore provides rental packages. Handguns and holsters are subject to availability so contact us early.


    The student is required to bring a minimum of 400 rounds of ammunition for this training course. Magnum calibers are not permitted. (ie. .357 mag, +P ammo etc..), and no steel jacketed ammunition.

    Ammunition can be purchased through Silvercore if advanced notice is given.

    Personal safety equipment

    You will need a supporting shoe with good traction, a billed hat (baseball hat), quality wraparound eye protection, and hearing protection. Eye and hearing protection are mandatory for everyone on the range. Shirt should be form fitting at torso and cuffs as to not snag the equipment. No loose collars as stray brass can get stuck down your shirt. Pants should allow ample movement and allow the student to affix a belt holster.

    Safety Equipment can be arranged through Silvercore with advanced notice.

    Anyone over the age of 16 who takes a course with Silvercore which either enables them to work or improves their skills in a recognized occupation may be eligible to claim their course fees under the education and textbook tax credits. Contact us for your T2022A tax form and check out Canada Revenue for further information

    Course Overview

    The Skill Set Development Program Includes:

    Each Handgun Skill Set Development session will be custom tailored to maintain and enhance the topics covered in Handgun 2 and 3. Participants will be given the opportunity to practice performance based exercises commonly found only among armed professionals while under the direct supervision of industry certified trainers.

    Participants will receive target templates and a student package outlining the days drills so that they can continue practicing on their own.

    We limit our Skill Set Development Day to a maximum of 12 students to give the highest level of attention. This day is designed for the more advanced student wishing to further their knowledge of safe and effective handgun use.

    You are required to bring your firearm and a minimum 400 rounds of ammunition. No Steal Jacketed Ammunition. If you don’t have access to any of the above, make sure to contact Silvercore and make arrangements with us.
